BAGUIO CITY, Aug.8
(PIA) -- The Philippine Red Cross Baguio City chapter has recognized several
institutions and individuals for their relentless support to the institution
during the Blood Donors Month recognition ceremony last week with the theme,
“150 years of Humanitarian Action: Every Blood Donation is a Gift of Life.”
Testimonial plaques
were given to the University of Baguio for service achievement on its 16th year
and collecting 1,445 blood units and to the University of Cordilleras on its
12th year and collecting 1,211 blood units.
The testimonial
plaque is given to individual or group that has given 1,000 units of blood in
10 years.
The Scroll of
Honor, which is awarded to institution or group which has given a minimum of
200 units cumulative total of blood within a minimum of four years, went to
University of the Philippine–Baguio, Alpha Phi Omega- Gamma Phi –UP Baguio
chapter, Ang Dating Daan-Baguio, Easter College, Baguio Center Mall, Scouts
Royale Brotherhood International Service Fraternity and Sorority-Baguio.
Recipients of the
Diploma of Service, which is awarded to a group that has given 100 units of
blood cumulative total within two years, are E-Carta Media Production and
Promotion, Sitel Baguio, AMA Computer College, Tau Gamma Phi-Tau Gamma Sigma,
Texas Instruments Philippines Inc., SMART Communications-Baguio and Baguio
School of Business and Technology College, Inc.
Certificate of
Appreciation were also given to those with meritorious involvement in Red Cross
activities and services namely, the Moog Controls Corporation, ABS-CBN TV3
Baguio, STI Computer College, Philippine National Police-Cordillera
Administrative Region Training Center, Baguio Country Club, Church of Jesus Christ
of the Latter Day Saints-Baguio, Baguio Central University, Samahang Ilokano,
106 Community Defense Center-ARESCOM, DATA Center College of the
Philippines-Baguio.
Also acknowledged
were the new members of the Blood Galloners Club composed of voluntary blood
donors who help sustain the blood bank in the city.
The new galloners
with Blood Type O are Judith Ap-apid, Stephen Atos, Kris Aaron Evangelista,
Egon Nile Jordan, Kristofer Tom Labonete, Richard Masadao, Russel Peralta,
Rogelio Rasing, Isabel Tomas, and Christian Tudlong.
Blood Type A
galloners are Shirley Anne Eilenger, Dominic Wilson Hong, Roman Mariano Jr.,
Lovely Padalla, and Irah Yvette Soraino.
Blood Type B new
galloners are Michael Aquino, Jayson Boado, Darwin Diaz, Rosalinda Fajardo,
Noel Gambao, Lawrence Dexter Ladia, Michael Angelo Quisquirin, and Joel
Sobrera.
Blood type AB new
galloners are Reza Aminranjbar, Ernesto Landingin Jr., and Apolinario Somodio.
Atty. Erdolfo
Balajadia, chairman of the board of PRC Baguio, chapter thanked all those who
