DTI Promotes Online Business Tips

By Joanne Namnama G. Parrocha

SAN FERNANDO CITY, Aug 1 (PIA) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in the region has started promoting its online publication “Radio Bits,” an online compilation of business-related tips for consumers, investors, and entrepreneurs.

The website seeks to develop the business skills for those starting out and how to keep the business going for those with established investments.

For July, the DTI presented tips on business planning with four key principles to keep in mind namely: an organization plan, a financial plan, production and marketing plan.

Organizational plan includes identifying the workers and their total number in a certain business and knowing how to organize them. Financial plan lets an entrepreneur manage his business capital through proper budgeting.

On the other hand, production plan includes knowing the most appropriate ways in the production of products or goods. For instance, a business owner must know the right materials for his products and where to purchase high quality but affordable materials to save. He must also be equipped with knowledge on the equipment needed.

Lastly, an owner must prepare a marketing plan which will guide him how to sell his products easily. There must be target clients or prospect buyers of the product.

For more tips, consumers or business owners can subscribe to DTI’s monthly publication by sending an e-mail to publications@dti.gov.ph or they may visit the nearest DTI operational offices for more inquiries. (MCA/JNP-PIA1 La Union)
